You may recall our recent blog post about Josh - a young boy, just 7 years old, who tried to raise £250 by cycling 60 miles in 6 weeks.
He said: "I chose Snappy because I want to help people with disabilities, and Snappy does that in a really great way. The money raised will go towards buying toys for the kids at Snappy, mainly giant Lego because I love Lego."
Well, this target quickly changed to become 80 miles in 6 weeks with a new fundraising target of £500.
Cycling around Brighouse, York and on holiday in Wales, Josh worked hard to hit his target. On the file day, he cycled from the Millennium Bridge, along the national cycle network route 65, across the racecourse and followed the solar system path out past Bishopthorpe and back.
Unbeknown to Josh, his mum, the Snappy croc and some of the children and helpers from Snappy were waiting at the end of the bridge to clap and cheer for him as he finished the last of his 80 miles.
"It has been a fantastic 6 weeks. We have had laughs and talked about charity and helping others. We've also had some technical difficulties including Josh's crash and my chain snapping! But we made it the whole 80 miles!" - Andrew
In total Josh raised over £1,000 (plus gift aid) for Snappy and hopes to be able to provide some giant lego bricks and other play equipment.
What a wonderful achievement for one so young - we are incredibly grateful for your support Josh, thank you!!
